OUR FOCUS AT BITTEN BY PRODUCTIONS IS TO EXCLUSIVELY BRING NEW AUSTRALIAN PLAYS TO OUR AUDIENCE. WE'RE ALWAYS ON THE LOOKOUT FOR EXCITING NEW AUSTRALIAN THEATRE AND AS SUCH WELCOME SUBMISSIONS OF NEW WORKS.
If you’re interested in having your play considered, please take note of the following guidelines:

Do not send us a full script; send the first five pages, a bio and a full synopsis. If we’re interested, we’ll get in touch to request the whole thing.

We do not accept scripts that have been produced elsewhere; Bitten By Productions is a platform for new work.

If you’re not familiar with our output, take a look over the shows we’ve produced to get an idea of our style and interests. We’re open to new ideas, but we’re largely disinterested in overt non-naturalism, absurdism, or anything preachy/political. That’s not to say that we wouldn’t consider a really good play that included the above elements, but we’re predominantly interested in story and character, and there are plenty of other theatre companies in Melbourne that specialise in more experimental work.

Producing a new play is always a collaborative process. It’s possible that, if we are interested, we might ask you to make some changes or take part in a development workshop. Please don’t apply if you aren’t open to this.
